Legal
Privacy policy
This is a courtesy translation of the German Datenschutzerklärung. The German version is the legally binding one.
This website processes as little personal data as possible. No cookies are set for analytics or marketing purposes, no tracking or statistics services are embedded, and nothing is shared with advertising networks. Web fonts are served from our own server, so visiting this site establishes no connection to third-party servers.
1. Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Dr. Mirko SaundersRohrerpfad 25
56072 Koblenz
Germany
Email: info@phanera.de
No data protection officer has been appointed; the statutory requirements of § 38 BDSG are not met.
2. Hosting
This website is hosted under the IONOS Webhosting Plus plan by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Strasse 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The servers are located within the European Union. IONOS processes the data arising when the website is accessed on our behalf; the processing agreement forms part of the underlying IONOS contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing this website securely, reliably and efficiently.
3. Server log files
When you access the website, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically:
- referrer (the website visited previously)
- the page or file requested
- browser type and version
- operating system and device type
- date and time of access
- IP address in anonymised form
IONOS collects the IP address directly in anonymised form and uses it only to determine the location from which the access originated. This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security. It is not combined with other data sources and is not evaluated for marketing purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. IONOS stores visitor data for eight weeks.
4. Contact form and demo requests
If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we process the details you provide: name, email address, optionally your institution or organisation, and your message. These details are sent to us by email and are used solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
The form contains a hidden field to detect automated spam submissions. It is not filled in by humans and serves only technical abuse detection; no behavioural analysis takes place.
Your enquiry remains in our mailbox until the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you ask us to delete it, or statutory retention periods expire. It is not stored permanently in any database on this website.
5. Downloads and external file delivery
The public download overview is intended for SIGMA Builder and Iriscope Reader. Installers are delivered through GitHub Releases; PeriTag and licenses are available on request. Public downloads do not require registration with us.
Starting an external download connects your browser to GitHub or its delivery services. The technical data required for the transfer, including your IP address and request information, is sent to the respective provider. This processing is described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
This website retrieves and caches version information on the server. Simply opening the download overview therefore does not connect your browser to GitHub. Documentation files served by our web server may continue to use a single aggregate counter per file, without individual visitor events. The hosting logs described in section 3 remain separate.
6. Web fonts
The typefaces used (Inter, Space Grotesk) are stored locally on our server and delivered from there. No connection to Google or other third-party servers is established when the fonts load, and no data is transmitted to third parties.
7. Cookies
This website sets no cookies for analytics, profiling or marketing. Technically necessary cookies may be set by the WordPress content management system, for example to protect forms against misuse or for logging into the administration area. Under § 25 (2) TDDDG, these do not require consent.
8. Encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the „https://“ prefix in your browser’s address bar. While encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
9. Recipients and international transfers
The hosting provider named above is used to operate this website. If you start an external software download or follow a link to GitHub, the external provider processes the resulting technical access data under its own responsibility. GitHub states that data may be processed internationally, including outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Details are available in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
10. Visitors outside the EU
This website is operated from Germany and addresses research institutions worldwide. The GDPR standard of protection applies uniformly to all visitors, regardless of where they are located. We do not sell or share personal information within the meaning of United States privacy legislation. If you access this website from outside the EU, your data is processed on servers located within the European Union.
11. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
An informal message to info@phanera.de is sufficient to exercise these rights.
12. Right to lodge a complaint
Under Art. 77 GDPR you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-PfalzHintere Bleiche 34
55116 Mainz, Germany
www.datenschutz.rlp.de
13. Data processing inside our software
Independently of this website, the following applies to our SIGMA Builder, PeriTag and Iriscope applications: your research data is processed locally on your own machine. Stimuli, gaze data, annotations and analysis results are not transmitted to us or to any third party. As a research institution, you remain responsible for collecting and processing the personal data of the people you study in a compliant manner.
14. Changes to this policy
We update this privacy policy whenever changes to the website or to the legal situation make it necessary. The current version applies to each new visit.
