The SIGMA framework

A research chain.
Built from focused tools.

Experimental control, AOI preparation, eye-tracking analysis and project review have different jobs. SIGMA connects them through the study material and project context.

The available workflow

Build ↔ annotate → analyze → review.

Start with the module that fits your current research phase. The connected workflow lets material, regions and analytical context travel with the project.

Connections that matter

Each handoff carries more than a file.

Use the exchange paths according to the research task.

  1. Builder ↔ PeriTag. Send image and video stimuli for AOI preparation and return the regions to their original experiment components.
  2. Builder → Iriscope. Move the acquired session into analysis with trial, display, stimulus and AOI context.
  3. PeriTag ↔ Iriscope. Analyze annotated material, revisit regions and retain revised AOI sets alongside their analytical history.
  4. Iriscope → Reader. Share a prepared project for free inspection of its stored evidence and reports.

Design principles

The workflow should remain understandable.

SIGMA keeps tools focused while retaining the context needed to explain the research.

01

Local work

The applications work with local research files. Project sharing follows the channel chosen by the research team.

02

Explicit methods

Make input, annotation and analysis choices available for review rather than hiding them behind a final metric.

03

Focused modules

Use Builder, PeriTag, Iriscope and Reader for their respective tasks. Planned modules are identified separately from the available workflow.

Development

Follow the next steps in the research chain.

The roadmap distinguishes available tools from planned extensions.
